The meeting with Zbigniew Karkowski, one of the most important electronic music composers and performers, big master of the seismic power and the raw sound mass, is promising a dazzling exchange: an extremly loud crash of subsonic frequencies' waves actioned by intense druming.

Zbigniew Karkowski has composed and will play the piece "Form and Disposition" and Daniel Buess will play it with his huge percussion and drum set. This composition was published with the book "Zbigniew Karkowski, Physiques sonores" (2008). This book was the first volume of a collection - called "Rip on / off" - published by Patrick van Dieren in Paris and in collaboration with the LUFF. The aim of the collection is to publish french translations of experimental musicians' texts. The piece  "Form and Disposition" will be plaid tonight, here in SuperDeluxe, for the second time since 2008.

Daniel Buess

Two great underground comics artists….as DJs… ! Two generations will fight with their own musical references.

Takashi Nemoto (DJ)

He is Japanese manga artist.
Mr.Takashi Nemoto (*1) was born to 1958 in Tokyo. A constellation is the Crab.

In 1981,He came out as a"manga-ka"(comics artist) on the "GARO". (*2)

"GARO" was the most famous undergroud comics magazine in Japan. And it produced a large number of many talented comics artist. Yoshiharu Tsuge and Suehiro Maruo, etc. (*3)
Since it came out, although he is "manga-ka",he is walking on the wild side of Comics industry as consistency. His comics are often set from the owners of general good sense as the object of dislike.(*4)

But,His Enthusiastic popularity will not decline for 20 years or more since a debut. He is the leading person of Japanese underground comics and underground culture.
Mr. Takashi Nemoto is the man called the President of "Tokusyu-manga(alternative comics/avant-garde comics/outsider comics/psychdelic comics/surrealistic comics/underground comics)"

The trio gathered, in 2007, 3 monsters of the current japanese indie music movement : Atsuhiro Ito, mythical as inventor of the Optron, who already strid along the european stages with his solo project ; Hiko, over-active and wild drummer for japanese hardcore / punk band such as Gauze ; and Kuro Pipe aka Stardust, the thousand faces guitar player, who also sings for the chaotic Kuro Pipe Stardust band and is reknowned as the organizer for some of the most insane parties in Tokyo. Their perfomance at LUFF in 2009 was their first show in Europe as OFFSEASON and since that moment we have built together the LUFF does Tokyo

Tonight, OFFSEASON will play with the amazing video artist, Yudayajazz. He will add to their chaos his special control of image and sound synchronization on an audio/visual platform outfitted with a set of turntables, a laptop, video camera, microphone, and multiple projectors.

Born in Osaka, Japan, Maruosa is one of the world’s rare extreme laptop musician. He started this project and his own label Rendarec back in 1999. The same year was released his first album Exercise and Hell. Kicked by the dirty ultra powerful crazy rhythmics, with a bpm so high that he tickle some pacemaker frequencies, it will be impossible to escape the really strong energy coming from the stage. Not only a really patient composer, the artist moult himself into a singer/screamer for the biggest pleasure of our ear drums, solar plexus and every organs ready to shake…

Syndrome WPW

Syndrome WPW's synthetic latopless show includes tragedy, neurosis and bullets. The analog sound is full of aggressiveness with a strong affinity for westerns and heavy metal. Turns the stage into a heap of ruins.

The quartet/band drums, bass, guitar, saxo/ electro, in ya face, Kuruucrew have quickly become one of the most important & OVER- booked bands of the Tokyo underground (translate/equivalent : independent) scene. Their aggressive sound merges simple and hypnotic melody to the metallic violence of a thick rhythm section perfectly assumed transforming their noise into something as a perfect digestion  of groovy, psyché, doom, incapacitantian & met bananescian influences. When Hair Stylistics came on stage with them at LUFF 2011, it was a pure orgasmic moment. Enjoy !

Hair Stylistics

Musician, painter & writer are some aspect of Masaya Nakahara aka Hair Stylistics, also known as the ex-Violent Onsen Geisha ! Since 1988 he never stopped to explore his incredible mad creativity. Impossible to define or predict. All for the best !

Jim O'Rourke

Tight between native american influences and the japanese promised land, between the concrete blues folk of John Fahay and the popular music of Burt Bacharach, and between several sound practices (for instance Faust or Stereolab’s producer, musician in Sonic Youth (2000-2005), playing Keith Rowe, Hair Stylistics, KK Null, and so on, or interpret – Check the soundtract of Herzog’s Grizzly Man –), the major Work of Jim O’Rourke condenses the contemporary musical transformations created by the interaction of avant-garde or improvised practices and the classical composition. Musical kennels mixer, he’ll cross tonight ours for our biggest happiness along with his homologous Norbert Möslang

Norbert Möslang

He's been the half part of now legendary Swiss duet Voice Crack, disbanded in 2002. "Voice Crack's sound ragout was one of the best noise experience in the 80's and the 90's" according to Alan Licht. Together with his accomplice Andy Guhl, they showed the way of Hardware-Hacking by hijacking household electrical appliances to create unbelievable sounds, breaking the cultural habits related to the sound generated by everyday objects. As a soloist, Norbert Möslang keeps on exploring what he pioneered, collaborating with other great sound and improvisation adventurers. He also works for visual arts, for instance in Peter Liechti's movie The Sound Of Insects.

If the word ‘noise’ does indeed come from ‘nausea’ (Latin for the sound made by seasick boat passengers), this is its very incarnation. JOJO Hiroshige, the founder and head of the Osaka label and music shop Alchemy is said to have introduced the term ‘noise’ into the Japanese language when he started the band in Kyoto in 1979 -incidentally the same year the Merzbow project was formed in Tokyo. Many still see in Hijokaidan the archetypal extreme-performance group. And although the last twenty years have seen them focus more on sound quality, the stage remains a space of total freedom where everything is possible - chaos first and foremost. This seminal band arose from the will to find the ultimate form of Rock music, as expressed by the shrieks of the immense Junko, the feedbacks and distortions of JOJO’s guitar, and the electronic insanity of Fumio Kosakai and Toshiji Mikawa - who are also playing at LUFF the next day as Incapacitants, another Harsh Noise music duet of paramount importance in Japanese extreme music.

Tonight, HIKO will be the noise rhythmic (!?) of Hijokaidan. HIKO is the insane drummer of OFFSEASON and Gauze - the japanese punk hardcore band formed in 1981.

Hijstorical !

CARRE is the duo project of the Tokyo musicians Yasutsugu Suzuki and Nagatada Yamaguchi. Face to face, an analogic machines’ wall separating each other, CARRE is producing synthetic sounds modifing the time perception, with sometimes mobile mirrors to twist the space dimension. In the SuperDeluxe cube, CARRE will collaborate for the first time with the rubber bands of Strotter Inst..

Strotter Inst.

Christophe Hess, alias Strotter Inst., is an architect and artist living in Bern. After years of experimentions on record player and looped tapes, he started the project Strotter Inst., focusing on record player manipulation without actual records. After producing a visual attraction on the audience, his installations gets then  sound attention at a higher level. His musical compositions integrates the nature of impure sounds. Strotter Inst. is also the name used for the actual creation of sound devices made from record players. Inst. means instrument as well as installation.

ASTRO is Hiroshi Hasegawa's solo project.
He was in the band named C.C.C.C. which was one of the biggest Japanese noise group.
Born in 1963, Hasegawa has begun his improvisation with his voice and drums. And in 1989, he made the group C.C.C.C. which's concept was impovisative mass-noise with very loud sound. The group became legend with the members Mayuko Hino, Ryuichi Nagakubo, Fumio Kosakai.
Also he has begun his solo unit ASTRO with analog synthesizers in 1993 as well as playing in C.C.C.C.
and then he formed "Cosmic Coincidence" as new C.C.C.C. in 2010 with the members Manuel Knapp and Rohco.
Now he is actively playing and issuing and doing many collaboration with other artists. And there are released works beyond 50 titles.
His playing style is like drifting between the meditation and awakening state with electronics and still he is pursuing it.
